			<abstract xml:lang="en">
				<p>The article examines the transformation of national identity in Montenegro, which is influenced by the country’s involvement in the Euro-integration process. The issue of national identity of the orthodox majority is controversial and closely related to the political orientation of the dominating groups — the Montenegrins and the Serbs. The paper argues that the EU has demonstrated both direct and indirect impact on the national identity in Montenegro resulting in ethnocultural polarization and the emergence of strong civilizational cleavage between pro-western and anti-western forces, which, in its turn, is also linked to the split between the Montenegrins and the Serbs. The decline of the socialist Yugoslav socialist model which contradicted the EU normative framework caused the search for the alternative sources of national legitimacy and led to the archaization of identity discourse. These claims are observable only if the EU normative documents and the enlargement conditionality principles are taken into consideration. The EU transformative impact on the national identity of the candidate states is regarded as a consequence of adaptive pressure from Brussels. The methodology of the study in based on the radical constructivism optics that aims to identify transformations in the discourse but ignores the variables approach common in neo-institutional Europeanization research.</p>

			<abstract xml:lang="ru">
				<p>В статье рассматриваются трансформации национальной идентичности в Черногории, происходящие под влиянием участия страны в процессе евроинтеграции. Идентитарная динамика оценивается на примере дискурса православного славянского большинства жителей Черногории, которое с определенного момента разделилось практически в равных долях на черногорцев и сербов. Методологическая рамка европеизации выводит в фокус проблематику внутренних изменений, связанных с влиянием Евросоюза на страны-кандидаты, которые в процессе евроинтеграции сталкиваются с различными требованиями, затрагивающими значимые основания национальной идентичности. В случае Черногории и стран «Западных Балкан» о связи некоторых изменений на уровне национального дискурса и фактора Евросоюза можно говорить на основании того, что эти решения отражают нормативную рамку ЕС (в т. ч. Копенгагенские критерии, Соглашения о стабилизации и ассоциации и весь корпус acquis communautaire), соответствуют позиции Брюсселя по постъюгославскому урегулированию, не ставят под вопрос проевропейский партийный консенсус и тем самым не блокируют процесс реформ, не препятствуют конвергенции в области внешней политики. Автор приходит к выводу, что проявлением европеизации Черногории является усиление поляризации между двумя доминирующими группами — сербами и черногорцами. Во-первых, по мере усиления партийно-политического размежевания по вопросу ориентации на союз с Сербией или на Запад (евроатлантический вектор) преобладавшая среди православного большинства черногорская идентичность распадается на две взаимоисключающие этнокультурные модели идентичности — черногорскую и сербскую. Происходит эрозия проекта черногорской гражданской нации. Оформляется сравнительно новый цивилизационный раскол по линии Запад–Антизапад и усиливается ощущение геополитического вызова. Осуждение югославского социалистического проекта, неприемлемого в ЕС, приводит к поиску новых источников легитимности и архаизации национального дискурса.</p>
