Abstract

The article deals with social relations inside and between political youth organizations of Novosibirsk oblast and Altai krai. The authors use the social network analysis to get insight of the consistent pattern of social relations between youth organizations of political party type. The objective of this study is, on basis of social media, to find the consistency, special features, similarities and differences in social relations structure inside and between political youth organizations of Novosibirsk oblast and Altai krai as the more urbanized and less urbanized Russian Federation states accordingly. First, the authors analyze the structure of relations inside the largest regional political youth organizations. Second, using the results, they perform the clusterization of groups inside online communities based on the number of contacts and the key points. Third, the authors study the interregional relations of political youth organizations inside one ideological speciality. The final step is dedicated to studying the relations between all organizations in two mentioned regions. Social network analysis of youth political organizations shown that the sphere of political youth organizations can be described as the political market, where the three strategies of playing are applied. The strategies are recession, protest and loyaty. Moreover, the members of political youth organizations make acquaintances and keep in touch with the members of other movements representing different ideologies, including with other regions. However, due to the long history and certain ideological quaities needed for membership, some organizations create the echo-chambers and gain extreme loyalty among their members, which makes it difficult for people to leave these organizations.
